Nike Basketball continues to go back in time to celebrate The King and his legacy by releasing, or in this case drawing inspiration from, some of his most beloved colorways.
In 2009, a Player Exclusive colorway of the Nike Zoom LeBron 6 surfaced as the “Stewie Griffin” version of the LeBron 6 brought the Family Guy character to life. Though the shoe was never released, sneakerheads have been pleading to Nike to release the vaulted colorway.
In 2018, rumors of a potential release surfaced as LeBron was seen in a pair during practice and was then followed up months later by sneaker king PJ Tucker playing in his pair on Christmas Day. Oddly enough, Nike and SNKRS introduced the “Vote Back” series giving users the chance to bring back one of The King’s PEs. The LeBron 6 “Stewie Griffin” did not make the final cut despite the allure well thought it had.

With no indication of it ever releasing down the road, Nike is giving lovers of the cartoon-inspired colorway hope with the upcoming Nike LeBron 18 Low “Stewie Griffin” colorway. The LeBron 18 Low mirrors the PE to the best of its abilities as the vibrant colors and the black outlining take us back to 2009.
The Nike LeBron 18 Low “Stewie Griffin” releases on September 3 for $160 on SNKRS and through select retailers. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
