LeBron James Wears Nike LeBron 8 “Watch The Throne” Ahead of LeBron 9 Retro

In August 2011, Kanye West and Jay-Z released their joint project, Watch The Throne. The album signified a new era for music, hip-hop culture, and even sneaker culture at large as bold, elegant, and in-your-face colorways were birthed out of the Kanye and HOV’s influential album.

And of course, The King could not be left out. Nike cooked up a limited colorway of the Nike LeBron 9, worn by LeBron James throughout the 2011-2012 NBA season. The Nike LeBron 9 “Watch The Throne” was built with a black upper with gold details, an extravagant gold lace dubrae, and a floral print lining.

Though the LeBron 9 “Watch The Throne” never made its retail debut back then, Nike decided that it was time to bring back to the limited pair for the masses as the Nike LeBron 9 “Watch The Throne” arrives soon.

Already releasing overseas and awaiting its stateside release, the LeBron 9 has everyone on their toes — and rightly so.

As LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers hosted the Brooklyn Nets for the Christmas Day match-up, The King wore an all-new colorway of the Nike LeBron 8, coated in gold and featuring the same floral print that mesmerized sneaker forums back in the day.

It’s not likely that the Nike LeBron 8 “Watch The Throne” releases anytime soon. However, given the nature of recent unvaulted LeBron retros, it’s plausible that the LeBron 8 could make its retail debut in the years to come (fingers crossed).
