April 20 doubles as both the annual stoner celebration and Killer Mike’s birthday, so it’s only fitting that Nike SB and Run the Jewels opt for double the fun in a dual-celebration.
Official images have surfaced for both a SB Dunk High and SB Dunk Low from the first-time collaborators. Both are colorful affairs, but it’s the Dunk High that opts for a more daring arrangement of materials.
Run the Jewels’ SB Dunk High arrives in black and pink, with the latter coming on overlays that appear to be pony hair or a faux-fur. Black leather is used for the base and midsole, with the color repeating on a Swoosh with geometry similar to the RTJ4 album cover. RTJ’s signature hand symbol hand sign is then used for the gold lace dubraes, which point at each other across the two sneakers. These marks also appear across the yellow insole, and yellow pull tabs on the heel provide a small dash of contrast. Rounding out the bold affair are a pink outsole and pink stitching on the midsole.
The SB Dunk Low opts for several shades of blue across an upper that makes use of wude, nibuck, and smooth leather. Pink returns on the Swoosh, while gold branding appears on the tongue tag and mustache. Run the Jewels’ marks are more subtle with just the hand sign appearing on the insole, and additional flourishes come with ribbed laces and a semi-translucent blue sole.
Both SB Dunks are expected to release April 20, with the High priced at $140 and the Low $130. Where exactly they’ll be available has yet to be announced, so download the DROPS by SoleSavy app for any and all updates.
