Everyone has to start somewhere, and for LeBron James, it all began in Sacramento. As hard as it is to believe, nearly two decades ago, the Chosen One made his highly anticipated NBA debut on the road against the Sacramento Kings. To celebrate the momentous anniversary and the King’s first steps to greatness, Nike re-releases the Nike Zoom Generation “Debut.”
On October 30th, 2003, James stuffed the stat sheet with 25 points, nine assists, and six rebounds in 42 minutes of action. The Nike Zoom Generation “Debut” was originally released in 2017, although the King graced the hardwood 15 years earlier.
Like the previous release, the silhouette features a white leather upper sitting on black and red accents. The Zoom Generation can still hold up today with a carbon fiber shank plate and herringbone traction on the outsole. Toss in a full-length Air Zoom unit for ultimate comfort, and you’re good to go. Nike subtly nods to James’ debut with the date “11.5.2003” hidden on the heel.
This summer, you can grab the Nike Air Zoom Generation “Debut” for $180 from Nike.com, Footlocker, and other retailers. In other news, the “Court Purple” Nike Air Zoom Generation will release tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET.
