The upcoming Air Jordan 1 CO.JP “Neutral Grey” will arrive in both a regular edition, worldwide release at TBA date as well as a special edition release exclusive to Japan. As a nod to the shoe’s initial release in 2002 as part of Nike’s CO.JP program, the shoe will release in a limited edition of 2,002 pairs inside a silver, Air Jordan branded suitcase.
The shoe is constructed out of two kinds of leather: a fine, Neutral Grey suede, and a pebbled Metallic Silver leather. The prominent use of Metallic Silver on the toebox, heel, ankle collar, and Swooshes makes the addition of a silver suitcase packaging make all the more sense; the luxurious packaging perfectly complimenting the regal colorway. The remainder of the upper’s overlays, including the lace stays, mudguard, ankle, and tongue are done in the titular Neutral Grey suede. The shoe also maintains some of the original details found on the OG 2002 release including a jewel “Jordan Wings” logo, silver embroidery on the tongue, and a Jordan + CO.JP co-branded insole. The Japan-only limited-edition version releases July 25th on SNKRS Japan for ¥26,400 (~$265 USD).
