Reebok Canada is bringing people together through the power of sport. The Vector brand’s Canadian division has recently brought a Toronto West End basketball court to life.
As part of Reebok’s commitment to providing access to physical activity to underserved youth, Reebok Canada has partnered with the City of Toronto’s Parks, Forestry, and Recreation team to identify a local community basketball court in Toronto in need of restoring. The result? The court located at MacGregor Playground.
“Having access to sports and recreational facilities is an important part of any child’s life. This partnership with Reebok Canada is a good example of the work the city is doing with companies, organizations, and other governments to make important investments in enhancing and maintaining our recreation facilities, said Mayor John Tory. “I want to thank Reebok Canada for investing in our city and for refurbishing the basketball court for the neighborhood to enjoy. I look forward to seeing kids enjoying this new and improved court and embracing basketball in our city.”
Reebok also recently teamed up with Foot Locker Toronto and partnered with local artist Adam “The Illustrator” Bosley and his Nothin’ But Net initiative, with a summer-long goal of replacing the netting on 200 basketball courts nationally. Bosley installed 150 nets by hand in the greater Toronto area, with an additional 50 nets mailed to schools across Canada as part of Reebok Canada’s BOKS (Build Our Kids’ Success), an initiative of the Reebok Foundation which works to enhance physical activity for children.
