Key sneaker releases of the week for May 13th – 19th.
This week Wemby releases his very first Nike PE, Travis Scott is back with another AJ1 Low OG inspired by high alma mater, and the potential Nike SB Dunk of the year is releasing.
Nike Zoom Vomero 5 ‘Back 9’ – May 14th
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 is arguably one of Nike’s hottest silhouettes that they have put out over the past few years. The Vomero 5 combines current style trends with all day comfort and performance. This ‘Back 9’ colorway was originally rumored to be a part of a ‘Masters’ themed collection but Nike held it back to release at a later date. The Green and Yellow hits throughout this pair are clearly Augusta inspired and would pair perfectly with The Green Jacket. The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 ‘Back 9’ launches exclusively on Nike US on May 14th.

KORN x adidas Campus 00s – May 15th
After a very successful collaboration last fall, KORN and Adidas are once again linking up. The band’s long connection to the three stripes once again is celebrated- this time on the Campus 00. The pair features premium suede with several nods to the Californian band. The tongue, as well as the heel feature the now iconic KORN branding. The sneaker also comes with an equipment case themed box that features extra laces, stickers and even a guitar pick lace jewel.

Victor Wembanyama x Nike GT Hustle 2 ‘Alien’ – May 15th
Victor Wembanyama has had himself a massive 12 month stretch. He went 1st overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, he signed a $100M deal with Nike, he was unanimously voted the 2024 NBA Rookie of the Year, and his very first Nike PE sneaker is dropping this week. Wemby’s PE GT Hustle 2 is highlighted by green galaxy prints, a glow-in-the-dark green outsole, and his signature ‘Alien’ logo on the heel and insole. Paint splattered laces completes the look and gives this pair an out-of-this-world feel, perfect for the 7’4” Center who is appropriately nicknamed ‘Alien’. Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Elkins’ – May 17th
It can’t be Summer without a Travis Scott release. This Elkins colorway comes in a never before seen color blocking for a travis sneaker. The hits of canary yellow and royal blue are inspired by Travis’ High School alma mater- Lawerence E. Elkins High School. The yellow and blue is complemented by a nice white tumbled leather and is tied all together with a gum bottom. The Travis Scott Elkins Air Jordan 1 Low OG will be released in women’s sizes on the NIKE SNKRS app and select retailers on May 17th.

New Balance ‘Grey Day’ Collection – May 17th
Every May New Balance gives us a collection of classic silhouettes in their signature Grey colourway in celebration of ‘Grey Day’. This year is no different, the 2024 ‘Grey Day’ collection is highlighted by the fan favorite 1906R, two clean 574’s, and the newly released WRPD Runner. The 1906R and WRPD Runner Release May 17th on New Balance while the 574’s are available now

Air Jordan 11 Low ‘Space Jam’ – May 18th
The legacy of the Space Jam 11 was sealed the moment they made their first appearance in the movie of the same title. Its 2009 retro contributed to the explosion of popularity and involvement into the hobby of sneakers. The shoe was last released in 2016- and will be making a return this week, this time in a low top form. The Air Jordan 11 Low Space Jam releases on May 18th at 10 AM EST on NIKE US.

Futura Laboratories x Nike SB Dunk Low – May 18th
Already being hailed the SB Dunk of the year by many, the Futura x Nike SB Dunk Low is a pair that has been on many sneakerheads ‘must cop list’ since they were first previewed last year. Futura’s unmistakable graffiti style artwork is on full display and is accompanied by his signature on the lateral side heel. Accented by multicolor laces and an iced out translucent blue outsole to match the overall aesthetic of the shoe. Wrapped up in special packaging it’s safe to say this is one of the most eye-catching sneakers we have seen drop this year. The Futura Laboratories x Nike SB Dunk Low is set to release on May 18th.

Skepta x PUMA Forever – May 18th
Two years ago, the sneaker space was surprised when UK Rap Legend Skepta was announced as a new collaborator for PUMA. The news came at the heel of very successful campaigns with Nike, leaving fans wondering what Skepta had up his sleeve. Now in 2024, Skepta and PUMA are finally releasing their anticipated sneaker, the ‘Forever’ this week. The sneaker features uses of mesh and reflective 3m- materials that have become synonymous with Skepta and his sneakers.
