Nike’s fruitful partnership with Stranger Things births their most interesting collaboration yet.
After recently launching a collection to commemorate the final season of the Netflix show, today we have been treated to a special surprise.
No, it is not some secret ninth episode that explains away every issue fans are having with the show’s final season. Instead, the Nike Foamposite is getting the Upside Down treatment.

Known for canvasing some iconic designs, the Foamposite One is long known as one of the most iconic sneaker designs of its era.
The boot-like design, with contours that slim the sneaker, created a silhouette that looked out of this world. The sneaker took the world by storm in 1997. To this day, it is one of the most beloved sneakers for sneaker heads. And, to Nike’s credit, it is often treated with the esteem a sneaker of this caliber deserves.
That same unique design is what makes the sneaker a fitting narrative template for what could be Stranger Things’ final sneaker with Nike.
The eye-catching pattern, meant to resemble the constant storms of the Upside Down world in the show, feels like another classic design in the Foamposite’s already heavy history. The references do not stop there, though.

Other special details that creatively reference the show include: the upside-down Penny logo, printed insoles, signature box, Stranger Things pin set, and even a Vecna quote detail hidden within the sneaker’s back tab.
Stranger Things, which premiered a decade ago, concluded its run on Netflix as one of the most-watched shows in the streaming era. Though it is too soon to tell what legacy it will leave behind, Nike giving the sneaker such an iconic status, a sneaker it often protects and holds in high esteem, is a clear indication of the strength of the partnership.

The Stranger Things & Nike Foamposite One is currently slated to release on February 13th via SNKRS and participating Nike retailers.
