A few weeks into the new year and Stüssy is already making noise in every facet of the culture. From its upcoming Air Force 1 Mid collab to the anticipated Stüssy x Nike Air Penny 2 collaboration, the California-based streetwear label continues to raise the bar.
Stüssy extends its international presence as the label announced a new chapter store in the City of Light. To celebrate the opening of the Stüssy Paris chapter store, the label tapped in with the city’s passion for football with the help of its famed Parisian club — Paris Saint-Germain.
It’s no surprise that Stüssy and PSG teamed up for the momentous occasion. As we explored in Kickin’ It last summer, the Paris Saint-Germain and Jordan Brand partnership pushed the envelope of fashion and football. It was a matter of when, not if, more PSG collabs would surface, like the recently announced Dior and Paris Saint-Germain partnership.
Utillinge PSG’s 2021-2022 home kit, Stüssy branding appears on the right sleeve (typically used to signal tournament competitions) and on the back with the cursive Stüssy lettering and the chapter store’s address with the interlocking SS logo. Though exclusively released at Stüssy Paris, it’s refreshing to see that streetwear, football, and sneaker culture continue to be mixed through niches.
