.SWOOSH Invites Us to Touch Grass

.SWOOSH has spent 2025 releasing some of the most exciting sneakers- and giving some sound advice to gamers.

Whether they were asking us to reflect on important moments in gaming history, or simply asking us to stop breaking our controllers, .SWOOSH has spent this year telling some of the best stories the world of sneakers has had to offer. The way the team has blended narrative with humor, intention, and dedication has led to some of the most refreshing takes on sneakers, and this latest release is no exception.

On the heels of releasing one of the most important sneaker collaborations this year, Nike’s home for gaming and internet culture is taking a calm approach to end the year- this time tackling the Nike ReactX Rejuven8.

This two-pack ReactX Rejuven8 perfectly encapsulates .SWOOSH’s method of madness. The pairs are stylish and bold. The storytelling is so funny to the point that it is almost self-deprecating. And most of all, the collection perfectly understands the audience it is intended for.

.SWOOSH’s ReactX Rujuven8 collection features two new colorways of the popular recovery slides from Nike. The bold colors that have popularized the model this year are replaced by a bolder use of materials. Because who else but .SWOOSH would think to put a plush fabric on the upper of a slide?

The ‘Pine Green’ colorway, the boldest of the two, is made of that fabric completely. The result is a slide meant to resemble the greenest of lawns, allowing your feet to become the envy of your neighbors. Meanwhile, the ‘Wheat and Dark Brown’ ReactX Rejuven8 is reminiscent of your parents’ lawn from the summer you decided to play soccer every day. The darker tones may be reminiscent of worn-out grass, but they serve as a reminder to stay hydrated and focused- a good idea for gamers ready to grind out their first Arc Raiders Expedition.

In both cases, the ethos and message are the same, though. The collection is inviting gamers and sneaker heads to ‘Touch Grass’ in the best way possible. The phrase that can sometimes be used as an insult to people who are out of touch is being turned into something positive. The ReactX Rujuven8 is meant to be inviting to our video game grind sessions. How could it not be, when you consider .SWOOSH made a piece of footwear already known for comfort that much more stylish and comfortable.

This project is the perfect way to put a bow on a fantastic year for .SWOOSH. They released the marquee sneaker on Air Max Day 2025, they took the internet by storm with dirty Air Force Ones, and released perhaps the most ambitious anime crossover projects of all time. In a realistically short span of a year, the brand became one of the best narrative-driven imprints within the ever-reaching Nike umbrella. That, of course, is admirable.

The team behind these memorable drops deserves a victory lap. That said, if this release is any indication, they are likely not to get out of their gaming chairs if they decide to take one.

The ReactX Rejuven8 ‘Touch Grass’ collection releases Friday, December 19th, via SNKRS and participating Nike retail partners.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
