Almost a decade since its first release, the Chicago Low finally makes a triumphant return.
Last seen in 2016, the Chicago Low is one of the most beloved renditions of the Air Jordan 1 Low, for good reason. When it was last released, though, the sneaker scene was in a different place.

Almost a decade ago, when we last saw the Chicago Low, the sneaker was an easy pick up. In fact, it was spotted at outlet stores across North America. That, of course, is no knock on the sneaker, but simply a statement of where the sneaker space was at the time. After all, it was only four years later that the sneaker market exploded in popularity. Suddenly, the Air Jordan 1 was the hottest sneaker around- and older releases turned into grails almost overnight.
Of course, that is not to say the Chicago Low does not have the merit to be a grail sneaker. After all, it is one of the most beloved Air Jordan colorways of all time. But the reality of a shoe releasing in 2016, exploding in price a mere four years later, is near comical. The Chicago Air Jordan 1 Low OG is back this weekend, and it is meeting the standard of its 2016 counterpart.

Yes, that even means the bigger swoosh is making a return. In fact, according to our studious calculations, the swoosh on the 2025 Air Jordan Low Chicago OG is 27% bigger than any recent Air Jordan 1 Low OG. This detail, though ironically small, is a faithful reinterpretation of the 2016 retro. The bigger swoosh is so beloved, in fact, that it is expected to remain as a standard for future Air Jordan 1 Low OG launches.
The 2025 retro features a wider toebox, reminiscent of the Bred 85′ that is scheduled to return later this year. Of course, the leather features premium leather on the upper. The 2025 retro also feels more comfortable than other Air Jordan 1 Low OGs, as well. All in all, the 2025 Air Jordan 1 Low OG Chicago feels not only authentic to the ethos of Jordan Brand, but a faithful re-interpretation of the 2016 classic. Not bad for a shoe only releasing for a second time.
The Air Jordan 1 Low OG Chicago is finally making a return this weekend. The sneaker, which felt as if it could have slipped through the cracks, is getting its due this time around. There is no sneaker-boom to hyper-inflate its popularity. This 2025 retro is simply a great sneaker. And that is all we should really ask of one of the most iconic sneaker colorways of all time.

We finally have a first look at one of the most anticipated Air Jordan releases of the year.
The 40th anniversary celebration for the Air Jordan 1 is chugging along. With memorable releases like the Bred ’85, the Reimagined Black Toes, and the Reimagined UNC, Jordan Brand has made it a mission to make 2025 an unforgettable year for the sneaker that started it all.
Apart from the aforementioned high-top sneakers, the low-top Air Jordan 1 has also received a lot of love in 2025. Pairs like the Rookie of the Year Low or the Obsidian Low have reminded sneakerheads of the most recent eras of Jordan Brand popularity. There is no driving force like the colorway that is expected to release this November, though.
The Air Jordan 1 Low OG Chicago has long been rumored to make a return this year. The most iconic of Air Jordan 1 colorways has not graced a low-top Jordan 1 since 2016. Now, almost a decade later, we have images of what is expected to be the 2025 Air Jordan 1 Low OG Chicago.

The return of the Chicago comes just three years after the release of the Lost and Found Air Jordan 1 High. Earlier this year, UNION put its own spin on the Chicago 1. Now, Jordan Brand is poised to release a pair more in line with the original colorblocking of the beloved sneaker. The fan favorite oversized swoosh is making its return on the upcoming Chicago Low as well.
Currently, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG Chicago is expected to release on November 15th for $145 USD.
