The Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air” releases May 30th

The latest sneaker in the Rare Air line arrives this weekend.

Introduced this April with the launch of an Air Jordan 1 High capsule, the next sneaker receiving the ‘Rare Air’ treatment is the Air Jordan 3.

The Rare Air line pays homage to the long sampling process sneakers go through before officially hitting shelves. Oftentimes, material, color details, and accents are changed to create a different sneaker than the one originally envisioned.

The Air Jordan 3 has a rich history. Releasing in 1988, the Air Jordan 3 was the very first Jordan Brand sneaker designed by Tinker Hatfield. The legacy of the Jordan 3 is built on the iconic elephant print that has since made Jordan Brand sneakers identifiable to everyone. The Rare Air 3, though, is turning that on it’s head.

Replacing the iconic elephant print on the heel is a light shade of grey suede meant to envoke the test materials that would have been used when sampling the sneaker. A darker shade of grade replaces the familiar piece of elephant print along the toe.

The hits of blue and red throughout the sneaker are a nod back to the same colors found in the Rare Air Jordan 1. Of course, their familiarity makes the Rare Air 3 almost feel like another “best of” as it invokes a reminder of classic colorways like the Black Cement, Fire Red, and True Blue Air Jordan 3s.

The iconic Nike Air heel tabs make their presence felt on this sneaker, as well.  The bold red pops on the off-white heel counter. Of course, the standout detail here being that the heel on the right sneaker is backwards and mirrors the traditional look that is on the left sneaker.

The Rare Air Jordan 3 is the latest sneaker in the newly introduced Rare Air line. The classic colors, and twists on the expected details of such an iconic sneaker, have lead to a welcomed Air Jordan retro. As the line continues to establish itself in the minds of sneakerheads, the Rare Air 3 is the perfect entry- with some heavy hitters expected to be coming soon.

You can pick up the Air Jordan 3 ‘Rare Air’ when it launched on May 30th via SNKRS and participating Jordan Brand retail partners.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
