Jordan Brand’s first Air Jordan 4 of 2026 has a rich history.
Air Jordan Flight Club was an early mail-in membership program that gave Michael Jordan superfans special access to news, behind-the-scenes content, exclusive merchandise, and more, effectively acting as the original fan community for Jordan Brand.
Membership used to cost $15 per year (plus $2 shipping and handling) and included perks like a Michael Jordan photo, a physical membership card, an exclusive T-shirt, and a quarterly newsletter that allowed fans to feel closer to the game.

Long before blogs, social media, and hype-driven drops, Air Jordan Flight Club created a direct connection between brand and consumer, rewarding loyalty and helping lay the foundation for today’s modern sneaker culture.

The program ended in the mid-1990s as fan engagement shifted from physical mail to digital platforms, but Jordan Brand is honoring its legacy with the upcoming Air Jordan 4 “Flight Club,” a sneaker inspired by both the club and the original 1989 Air Jordan 4.
This year, Jordan Brand is telling the story of that beloved Fan Club- and using the Air Jordan 4 as the canvas. This new Air Jordan 4 “Flight Club” features the nostalgic Flight Club badge on the tongue, plus insole and box graphics that echo classic club merchandise.
The sneaker is scheduled to launch on January 17 via SNKRS and at select Jordan Brand retailers.
