The Air Jordan 7 is one of the most storied models in His Airness’ royal arsenal. He wore them en route to his 3rd NBA championship against the Portland Trailblazers and during his iconic Olympics run. As the sneaker celebrates its 30th birthday, Marcus Jordan and Trophy Room are celebrating the iconic silhouette with a nod to the 92 Barcelona Olympic games.
The silhouette features a premium suede upper with the base being red with white overlays on top evoking the quintessential “Olympic” 7s. The sneaker’s pull tab includes the 5 colors of the Olympic rings which spill into a metallic golden hardware badge emblazoned with the Trophy Room logo on one heel and MJ’s Olympic number 9 on the other. Golden details on the Jumpman badge on the ankle and the jagged points of the midsole add a reverence to their dominant showing in those games.
Other details include the inner tongue embroidered with “new sheriff in town” as an homage to the classic one-liner he hit Magic Johnson and Larry Bird with during their scrimmage battles in Mante Carlo and Michael Jordan’s signature embossed on the lateral heel to complete the look. Speaking of, “Mante Carlo” and “1992” are printed on the sneaker’s insole as a nod to those clashes.
The release date for the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 7 “New Sheriff in Town” is set to release on November 5 via Trophy Room alongside an apparel collection. The retail price tag for the sneaker has been set at $225.
