VF Corp is firing its unvaccinated employees at the end of January after announcing its vaccination requirement in October.
The parent company to Vans, Supreme, The North Face, Timberland, and other brands announced that its U.S.-based employees who did not get the vaccine or receive a religious or medical accommodation would be terminated on January 31.
“Given easy access to effective vaccines and our desire to resume more normal operations in our facilities in the U.S., we issued a communication last October requiring all U.S. office-based V.F. associates to be fully vaccinated by January 1, 2022,” said a VF Corp spokesperson to Footwear News. “We have pursued this new requirement in the most transparent way with our associates so that everyone has the opportunity to make plans that are right for them.”
VF Corp joins Nike, Inc. with vaccine requirements as a leaked email stated that unvaccinated Nike employees would be fired over the weekend. Under Armour required that all employees would need to be vaccinated before returning to headquarters.
