Virgil Abloh and Jordan Brand continue their relationship. Nearly four years after its inception through “The Ten” collection, OFF-WHITE now takes on the Air Jordan 2 Low.
Like most Virgil Abloh creations, awe and scrutiny arose when images of the pair surfaced. From bashing the aged and cracked midsole to questioning Jordan’s signature on the shoe and even dismissing the collection when the $250 price point leaked, the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 2 Low caught strays across Instagram and Twitter and think pieces.
Official mages of the OFF-WHITE x AJ2 Low in black and royal recently surfaced, and more opinions piled up. Abloh then went across Instagram comments over the last few days addressing the criticism and providing more context and insight into the design process. In addition, Abloh dropped the illustration files and the 3D galleries of both colorways, allowing a more in-depth analysis of his latest creative endeavor.

The upcoming AJ2 Low was 3D scanned from an original pair that his Airness wore and is now crumbling, hence the midsole treatment. In addition, the signature from Jordan is taken from a pair that he wore and signed off on and currently resides in the Jordan Brand DNA archives. In typical OFF-WHITE fashion, the exposed foam treatment lands on the shoe’s tongue and collar. The pairs are also accompanied by the signature zip tie and “OFF-WHITE for NIKE” print on the shoe’s medial sides.
