Nike officially announces its upcoming collaboration with Skepta. The North London artist follows up his black and blue Nike Air Max Tailwind V pair with a “Bloody Chrome” capsule that includes a ~~soccer~~ football boot. The boot was teased a few days ago on Skepta’s IG and was even worn on the matchday and training pitch by Manchester United’s and England’s own Mason Greenwood.

The upcoming Skepta x Nike Phantom and Skepta x Nike Air Max Tailwind V nod to the thermographic cover art of Skepta’s 2019 album “Ignorance Is Bliss.”

“I love the culture around football as much as the game; I’m really into the culture of football jerseys for what they represent. They represent ‘team,’” Skepta said. “Going to matches is sick too. When you go to a match, you experience live people, live audio, all the things that the TV might miss …you really feel it more than see it or hear it when you’re there.”

The Skepta x Nike “Bloody Chrome” collection releases on June 12, a day after the UEFA Euros kick off.
