LeBron James looks to add to his legacy this summer as he enters the Space Jam. As The King and the Tune Squad take on the Goon Squad this summer in Space Jam: A New Legacy, Nike and Converse have unveiled the upcoming collection to accompany the film.
Headlining the collection is the Nike LeBron 19. The latest silhouette features an Air Max unit in the heel and a newly shaped Zoom Air forefoot unit for a reliable underfoot ride for James. According to Nike Basketball footwear designer Jason Petrie, the new platform was inspired by the futuristic magic behind the movie.
“In designing the LeBron 19, we were definitely guided by what was happening in the film,” Petrie said. “We wanted to give LeBron a brand-new feeling that was synonymous with an otherworldly, space-age kind of look.”
The collection also includes a handful of Nike LeBron 18 Lows inspired by the Looney Tunes. Converse enters the scene with more off-court flair as the Chuck 70, a range of apparel, and a backpack are front and center for the One Star.
The Nike and Converse collections release in July on SNKRS, Nike.com, and select retailers. As always, our release day strategy and monitors will have members ready for drop day.
Space Jam: A New Legacy will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, releasing in theaters nationwide July 16 and available in the U.S. on HBO Max for 31 days from theatrical release.
