Under Armour has announced that it will require employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to return to the office, as originally reported by Footwear News’ Shoshy Ciment. The decision arrives as the brand looks to open its doors in 2022 after delaying its original plan to bring back employees to the office on September 13 of this year.
“The health, safety and well-being of our teammates, as well as their families, are our top priority,” said Tchernavia Rocker, Under Armour’s chief people and administrative officer to Footwear News. “We want to provide teammates with a safe work environment and at this time, we believe that being vaccinated is the way to keep our team healthy and safe.”
Under Armour will require all employees to be fully vaccinated by December 31, 2021, as offices reopen in January of 2022. However, retail and distribution workers are not required to be vaccinated but must wear masks at work if unvaccinated.
