Nike is dropping some retro colorways of the Nike ACG Air Mowabb to celebrate its 30th anniversary. While it may not be as technical as Nike’s current trail running line, it’s an undeniable Tinker classic and quite possibly the most influential Nike ACG sneaker ever.
Fun fact: Did you know the Mowabb’s was the first sneaker to don the speckled midsole? Released in ’91, I was but a tot when these dropped, but I will never forget seeing them on Seinfeld. The neoprene bootie, speckled midsole, and rugged traction pattern made it look so TOUGH, but it was paired with a dad ‘fit, aka button-up and jeans.
I was able to get a pair for myself at Bodega on 8/2, and I’ve been so excited to get some fall ‘fits together. Trail runners can feel daunting to plan ‘fits for, but it’s actually fun to put something together that’s out of the norm but still in line with how I like to dress.
