The WNBA recently wrapped up its legendary 25th season. Not only was the regular season filled with jaw-dropping moments, but the stars came out all season long, from the season tip-off to the final buzzer that crowned Candace Parker and the Chicago Sky as champions.
New York Liberty star and Rookie of the Year Michaela Onyenwere had herself a year. Onyenwere averaged 8.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 32 games for the Liberty and all rookies in points per game, field goals made and 3-pointers made.
Aside from the ROTY accolade, Onyenwere also received a celebratory Nike Dunk Low from the Swoosh dipped in the Liberty’s seafoam green and complemented with her jersey number in black to match the shoe. The pair was delivered in special packaging, further cementing her rookie campaign.
