Nike introduced the world to Air like never before with the release of the Nike Air Max 1 in 1987.
Prior to the Air Max 1 hitting retail, a rare version of the shoe was in production. Dubbed as the “Big Bubble” or “Big Window” version, the shoe was produced in 1986. The “Big Bubble” version was even included in some promotional advertisements ahead of the ’87 released version.

The Swoosh is finally bringing back the Air Max 1 OG in its original “Big Bubble” version. The shoe is set to return with its original white mesh base with grey and red suede overlays. Red details also arrive on the eyelet, the tongue, and the Nike Air branding on the heel. And of course, the extended Air unit window is included.
The Nike Air Max 1 OG “Big Bubble” is set to release in 2023. However, a release date or price point for the shoe have been announced. We expect the paint to release on SNKRS and select retailers upon its return.
