Nike, Inc. is in the courtroom again as the Swoosh has sued Lululemon over its Mirror device. Nike, according to the lawsuit, claims that Lululemon’s at-home-workout mirror infringes on the brand’s patents “by making and selling The Mirror Home Gym and accompanying mobile applications.”

Nike sites in the lawsuit that the brand has been at the forefront of digital workout technology with its patent dating back to 1983. The lawsuit then proceeds to state all of the brand’s innovations including the Nike+ iPod system, the Nike+ Fuelband, Nike Training Club, and others pertaining to the lawsuit.

According to court documents, Nike states that it notified Lululemon of its infringement prior to the filing of the lawsuit on January 5, 2022.

“Lululemon refused to stop and instead summarily dismissed Nike’s claims. Lululemon instead continues to make and sell The Mirror Home Gym and accompanying mobile applications without Nike’s authorization and in violation of Nike’s patents.”

In 2020, Lululemon acquired the startup for $500 million. The Mirror device, retailing for $1,495, is a reflective display that allows subscribers to exercise while simultaneously streaming workouts and watching themselves. Mirror’s workout library includes over 10,000 classes, according to its website. It also includes 1-on-1 coaching & live feedback, performance metrics, and more.

“Nike owns a robust portfolio of patents directed to its digital sport innovations for use in or with fitness equipment and apps, and especially for its features that drive athletes to continuously engage with a like-minded community of athletes dedicated to improving fitness and wellness,” the lawsuit states.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
