In 1994, Reebok released the Kamikaze for Seattle Supersonics’ Shawn Kemp. For the last quarter of a century-plus, the Reebok Kamikaze line has been integral to the Vector brand’s hardwood heritage.
The brand announced in fall 2021 that the Kamikaze silhouette would receive a name change with respect to the origins of the word.
Kamikaze was coined during World War II when Japanese soldiers would go on a suicide mission on fighter jets equipped with explosives.
According to the brand, the Reebok Hurrikaze II will roll out in the upcoming weeks.
