Jordan Brand continues to add stars to its roster.
Following Sean Tresvant’s departure as Chief Marketing Officer to join Taco Bell, the brand has announced its newest CMO.
Shannon Watkins, former CMO of Aflac, Inc., has been appointed as Jordan Brand’s Chief Marketing Officer. Watkins joined the insurance company in 2018 and was responsible for Aflac’s partnership with ESPN’s College Gameday, which focused on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
The appointment of Watkins and her track record is a continuation of Jordan Brand’s commitment to Black empowerment, leadership, and opportunities at the brand, both internally and externally.
“We need innovative leadership, someone who can lead us into the future by pushing creativity, championing diversity, and bringing our purpose to life,” said Jordan Brand CEO Craig Williams, according to Yahoo! Sports. “Shannon’s experience across multiple industries and business sectors will do just that, helping to lead our marketing efforts into the future.”
Watkins will report to Williams as she begins her role as Jordan Brand CMO starting May 16.
