Nike Taps Air Trainer 1 Historian John Gotty for SNKRS Live Event

The Air Trainer 1 is celebrating its 35th anniversary in style with the help of an OG.

As Air Trainer 1 fanatic & historian John Gotty wrote for SoleSavy in early 2022, the Air Trainer 1 is ripe for a comeback — the prediction couldn’t have been more accurate. The silhouette, designed by Tinker Hatfield, has festivities in order as the “Chlorophyll” colorway returns this year.

Ahead of the highly anticipated release, Nike is tapping Gotty himself to host the SNKRS Live Heating Up event on Wednesday, May 11. Gotty will be discussing the “Chlorophyll” colorway and more surrounding the Air Trainer 1. It’s only fitting that Nike partners with the most impassioned Air Trainer 1 sneakerhead in the game.

Additionally, the Air Trainer is doing more than just going into the archives. The Swoosh is also partnering up with La Flame for a series of Travis Scott x Air Trainer 1 collaborations (expected to finally release this summer).
