Mountain Research Reimagines the Reebok Club C II Mid

Mountain Research and Reebok head to the outdoors with their latest collaborative effort. The Club C II Mid is the canvas for the renowned Japanese brand as vintage elements, minimalist design cues, and a removable lace guard that mimics Club C’s original perforated foam tongue and classic cricket footwear protectors called “pats.”

“As the classic tennis shoe, I’ve wanted to work on Club C for some time,” Mountain Research founder Setsumasa Kobayashi said. “It also reminds me of ‘80s hip hop scenes where everyone wore white sneakers, which I always loved. The idea was to create something basic yet decorative,” Kobayashi added. “The minimalistic look is meant to correspond to the strict tennis club dress codes of the era.”

The Mountain Research x Reebok Club C II Mid releases for $140 on June 10 at Mountain Research (MOUNTAIN RESEARCH (sett.co.jp) and on June 17 at Reebok.com and select retailers. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
