The Age of Yeezy is upon us. Kanye has stayed true to his promise of making Yeezy available for everyone throughout the past year. Now at the perfect time, ‘Ye is bringing back his popular Yeezy Slides.
We’ve seen a good amount of questions on the sizing of Yeezy slides. One of our Brand Ambassadors, John Gooch took the initiative to help members out with a breakdown! Here’s his explanation:
- There have been two separate molds Adidas has used to produce the Slide model. The first mold was used to produce all Slide colorways released prior to November 2021. These models all run undersized and originated from the Adidas recommendation to size up.
- Beginning with the Ochres/Pure restock release in December 2021, Adidas switched to a new production mold and altered the foam materials used. Every ‘restock’ pair and the new colorway are currently being produced using the altered mold and foam material.
- While Adidas hasn’t changed its recommendation to size up on Slides, we’ve discovered that Slides produced with the new mold run significantly larger than the previous iteration.
To help demonstrate this difference, we’ve included a couple of visual comparisons. First, is an original release size 10 Pure (old mold) next to a size 9 Onyx (new mold). The second is a restock size 10 Pure (new mold) next to a size 10 original release Pure (old mold).
John’s recommendations for the 7/25 Bone/Onyx Slide release:
If you wear a full size: go TTS
If you wear a .5 size: go a half size down for a TTS fit. If you have wide feet, go a half size up if you’re ok with an oversized fit
