The Nike Cosmic Unity 2 was recently revealed with a muted off-white color. The original was Nike’s first performance sneaker made with recycled materials and the follow-up continues the tradition with its recycled yarn upper. The Cosmic Unity was the go-to silhouette of Las Vegas Aces Center and perennial MVP candidate A’Ja Wilson who even crafted her own colorway inspired by her grandmother Hattie Rakes.
Now, A’ja will lead off the new Cosmic Unity 2 with a new Player Exclusive colorway honoring Hattie. Instead of the multicolor makeup of her original pair, A’ja’s new Cosmic Unity 2 colorway will be entirely red. An enlarged Swoosh appears on the lateral side with a textured pattern similar to the traction pattern of the outsole. The Crater Foam technology in the sole returns, as well as the ZoomX insole, both made of recycled materials as part of Nike’s “Move to Zero” campaign. The silhouette is completed with the full-length Air Zoom Strobel and “Hattie Rakes” tags sewn in the inner tongue.
A date for the Nike Cosmic Unity 2 “Hattie Rakes” has yet to be revealed but expect to release via Nike. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will prepare members for drop day.
