UNDERCOVER and Nike have been cooking up for quite some time with their recent take on the Nike Dunk High 1985 being an underrated sleeper pickup. Now Jun Takahashi’s brand is taking on the iconic Nike Air Force 1 for its 40th anniversary.
First previewed with UNDERCOVER’s SS 22 collection nearly a year ago, official images of the unique collaboration have arrived. The silhouette takes the Air Force 1 and blends in influence from the ACG Air Revaderchi from 1992. The sneaker interpolates the sneaker’s plastic eyestay strap that connects to the molded plastic heel counter as well as the signature ACG neoprene bootie.
Adding to the technical feel with its ACG inspiration is the GORE-TEX upper which is acknowledged by the small tag on the forefoot’s lateral side. Completing the all-white affair is Nike and UNDERCOVER cobranding on the tongue and the lace dubraes which feature UNDERCOVER’s “Chaos” and “Balance” mantra on the left and right sneakers respectively.
A release date for the UNDERCOVER x Nike Air Force 1 has been set for October 12. The price has been set at $165.
