“My childhood dream was to have my own signature basketball shoe and it’s surreal to be announcing my second sneaker with adidas,” Young said. “Through our partnership we aim to inspire future hoopers to dream big and to stay true to themselves. I hope that others can relate to my journey as an example of what is possible through the game.”
For his upcoming sequel, Trae opted to replace the mesh of his first signature shoe with an adaptive knit upper for a sock-like fit that keeps the foot locked down without giving up comfort in return. The silhouette blends both Boost and Lightstrike cushioning for the pinnacle of energy return.
The toe of the silhouette takes branding inspiration from the Adilette slide which is fitting as the model offers both high-level performance specs as well as elite comfort specs for post-game cooldown and recovery. Among the colorways introduced were a “black/green” colorway with neon accents, a simple “blue/white” with a sea blue upper, a classic “black/white,” and a loud “pink/black” colorway.
The adidas Trae 2 is set to drop on November 1. The retail price is set at $140.
