Shaquille O’Neal is no stranger to video games having starred in several outside of the NBA licensed affairs most notably the Shaq-Fu fighting game.
Using the recently revitalized Reebok Shaq Attaq as a base, Reebok is honoring one of the seminal fighting games of the 90s and not the aforementioned Shaq-Fu (though it does need a colorway). The legendary arcade game Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition is joining forces with the Vector Brand to celebrate 30 years of the remixed classic.
The sneaker features a black base with hits of color matching the game’s logo including a red toecap, yellow Vector branding on the side, and teal on the ankle collar. The static print found on the shoe’s lining evokes the header of the Street Fighter 2 Champion arcade machine and gold hardware is found on the eyelets. Street Fighter logos appear on the sneaker’s pump and insoles while Reebok and Shaq branding appears on the back in the game’s stylized form.
The Capcom x Reebok Shaq Attaq “Street Fighter 2 Champion Edtion” drops on October 29 via Reebok and select retailers. The retail price is set at $180.
