Some staunch basketball sneaker fans would say that the early 2010s were the golden age for Nike Basketball, with Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and the Slim Reaper, Kevin Durant, putting up impressive numbers on the roster. In 2011, Kevin Durant was cementing his status as one of the most dangerous players in the league, getting selected to his third All-Star game after averaging 28 points a game. KD’s back catalog has been making infrequent returns to the public, with various colorways of the KD4 returning over the years.
Finally, it looks like the Nike KD3 is getting some love with the return of the Nike KD 3 “All-Star” from 2011, set to return next year. The tonal red sneaker matched the red of the Western Conference All-Star jerseys from that same year and featured a mix of synthetic leather, mesh, and Flywire. A stark white swoosh breaks up the tonal red colorway and makes a bold statement with its subtlety. Accents of black appear on the side panel and a portion of the midsole, and KD-branded midsoles tie the look together.
Look for the Nike KD 3 “All-Star” to release on February 10 for $130 via Nike and select retailers.
