New Balance’s resurgence is truly something to marvel at. Through great releases and a swath of incredible collaborations, New Balance has risen to its highest in some time. Part of the surge can be attributed to the revival of the New Balance 550 in 2020. The sneaker was first released in 1989 as a part of New Balance’s basketball line-up and got a remix from Teddy Santis and Aime Leon Dore in 2020 that sent the classic into the stratosphere. Since then, the silhouette has received a wave of new colorways to keep it timeless.
The newest upcoming colorway is the New Balance 550 “Pine Green,” which blends a mix of materials, including leather, suede, and mesh. The upper comes dressed in a shade of off-white that gives it an aged aesthetic. The namesake pine green hue appears on the New Balance “N” logo on the side, 550 branding on the eyelets, tongue tag, outsole, and suede patch on the ankle collar. A hint of black appears on the padded, mesh ankle collar and heel counter. The look is completed with a clean white midsole. The New Balance 550 “Pine Green” is set to release soon via New Balance and select retailers for $120.
