Nike Basketball is going all out for its latest signature signee Ja Morant. To celebrate his second NBA All-Star selection, Nike put up Mount 12skii, a pop-up shop where Ja’s debut signature shoe could be copped in two colorways celebrating the history of the Memphis Grizzlies with the classic Vancouver Grizzlies-inspired “Scratch” and the 2022-2023 City Jerseys with the Swarovski crystal-covered “Midnight” colorway.
The skii-theme comes from Ja’s new lingo and coincides perfectly with the mountainous visage of Salt Lake City. The pop-up shop is ice-themed, with frozen displays of Ja’s merchandise on the icy walls. The shop also features a selection of Ja’s new Nike merchandise, including beanies, hats, and sweats.
The customer service team comes decked out in special Ja Morant coats with “12Skii Patrol” and “12sSKII team” on the back, fitting attire. The sneaker box comes shuttling down a slide like an ice luge when purchasing the shoe. Outside the pop-up are a statue of Ja’s sneakers, his new Ja pendant gifted to him by Nike and Icebox, and ice blocks with life-sized Ja Morant mannequins inside.
With the iced-out “Midnight” colorway debuting ahead of the big weekend, it’s only fitting that the two-time All-Star breaks them out under the bright lights.
