As outdoor sneakers continue to have their moment in the sun, Korean label Matin Kim has teamed up with Asics for three pairs of the Gel-Sonomo 15-50 that shouldn’t go under your radar.
Each of the sneakers is inspired by nature and comes with brilliant color schemes to match. Leather overlays sit above a mesh base, while a plastic cage helps to provide reinforcement on the eyelets. A drawstring lacing system will ensure quick fastening, and jagged outsole comes with plenty of traction for the trails.
Matin Kim’s take on the silhouette comes in three colorways: “Oasis Green/Pure Silver,” “Black/Pure Silver,” and “Glacier Grey/White.” What the former two names leave out are splashes of green, as the grey pair situates aqua on the mesh and seafoam green on the tongue label. The black pair then utilizes a forrest green on the collar, eyelets, and mustache — as well turquoise on the midsole’s heel and a blue like you’d see in the waters of Cancun on the tongue.
