Norda has garnered the respect of hardcore trail runners since debuting with the 001 sneaker in 2021. Now, the Canadian brand is introducing its second silhouette in the 002, which it’s describing as the “the world’s most responsive trail running shoe.”
Like the 001, the 002’s upper is composed of a bio-based Dyneema textile that’s twice as strong as Kevlar with half the weight. The paneling on the sequel is a tad pared down, with the paneling around the collar removed and the counter now a single piece. Swooping lines bring to mind a topographical map and run down the length of the upper.
Down low, the Vibram SLE midsole sees a lower stack height to give you a better sense of the ground and new geometry for better stability. Further down, Vibram Litebase and Megagrip work together to provide a strong grip with minimal weight. Two black and white colorways have been revealed, and they make a clean swap in colors with one highlighting the gridded lines of the Dyneema upper.
Norda is still teasing the launch for the 002, with a release date yet to be revealed. What we can tell you is that it’ll run $295, and there’s a reason why Norda has taken hold within the outdoor community so quickly. Download the DROPS by SoleSavy app to keep up on all the best releases.
