A History of Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Footwear Collaborations

Ahead of the upcoming release of the CPFM x Nike Flea 2, we decided it would be a good idea to go down memory lane and do a quick recap of all the sneakers that the Swoosh and CPFM have collaborated on.

It’s no question that CPFM is one of the biggest names in streetwear right now, and love em or hate em, their footwear always gets the streets talkin’.

Let’s break down the full list, with words by our guy, Jose Partida.

Quick Intro Bio

Cactus Plant Flea Market (CPFM for short) was founded by Cynthia Lu. Lu, who previously spent time with Pharrell’s BBC Line, began teasing what would eventually become the brand in 2015.

In those times, not much was known about the brand and what it could be, but the likes of the aforementioned Pharrell Williams, and Kanye West, wearing CPFM-branded gear was enough to get the streetwear scene buzzing.

The brand’s bold approach to vintage patterns, bright texts, and even the use of smiley faces, made their apparel unique and identifiable. So much so that CPFM has been tapped for collaborations by some of the biggest brands in the world including Travis Scott, BAPE, and even McDonalds.

That being said, there is no denying that NIKE and CPFM have created not just memorable apparel, but some of the most polarizing sneakers of the last five years.

Now let’s get to the list!

CPFM x Nike WMNS Air VaporMax – Release: 2019

The NIKE & CPFM partnership began with a VaporMax that was released in Women’s sizing on Air Max Day 2019. The pair features a deconstructed take on the VaporMax with CPFM detail- including the now iconic smiley face branding- throughout the sneaker.

CPFM x Nike Blazer Mid by You – Release: 2019

The Blazer “Sponge By You” was CPFM’s first entry in NIKE’s popular customization series. The shoe was fully customizable with fabrics and patterns that very well represented the CPFM brand.

CPFM x Nike Air Force One Low by You – Release: 2019

Though it was more restrictive than the Blazer, from a design standpoint, this release combined design elements of two of the most iconic sneakers in Nike Basketball’s history- the Air Force One Low & the Nike Air More Uptempo.

CPFM x Nike Air Force One Low – Release 2019

After the success of the By You version the year prior, CPFM & NIKE once again released Air Force One Lows. This time, they were in monochromatic white & black colorways.

CPFM x Nike Dunk Low Pack – Release: 2020

CPFM & NIKE took the sneaker that was at the cusp of once again taking over the sneaker scene and covered it completely in Swarovski crystals. This released in two colorways: Pure Platinum & Spiral Sage.

CPFM x Nike Flea 1 – Release: 2022

After a few years without a collaborative sneaker release, the brands returned making a statement with the “Overgrown” Flea 1. NIKE & CPFM gave us what feels like a familiar shoe, and pushed it beyond the point of recognition. It is, without a doubt, the collaborators at their boldest.

CPFM x Nike Flea 2 – Release: 2023

Releasing in two different colorways on October 18th, the Air Flea 2 shares nods to NIKE’s lineage– like the waffle traction on the outsole- and takes it to another level.

As is tradition, the Air Flea 2 allows owners to customize their pair by including several removable elements on the sneaker, including the iconic swoosh on the side panel.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
