In 2022, Timberland teamed up with stylist Veneda Carter and created a patent waterproof leather 6-inch boot. It was shocking to learn that this was the first time a collaborator had taken the 6-inch boot and introduced a fully shiny patent leather to the entire upper. The boot was an instant hit with Gen Zers, who have recently been introduced to the brand, as well as many loyal Timberland fans. Worn by Drake and one of the most fashionable basketball athletes in the NBA, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, many view the nicknamed “Glazed Donuts” as a one-of-a-kind and sought-after silhouette.
Carter spoke on the collaboration in Timberland’s 50th anniversary “This Is Not A Boot: The Story Of An Icon” video. She mentioned how much American culture influenced her through music and film while growing up in Copenhagen. Knowing that the boot could be styled and worn in many ways, her attempt to create something new and different with a simple and timeless approach was successful. Coined the “Glazed Donuts,” the boot instantly sold out.
Fast forward to 2024, Timberland and Carter are set to release a blackout pair of the Glazed Donuts. Teased by Carter and Lil Yachty on social media, this version takes the same recipe and adds a second colorway from the Timberland archival catalog.
The black pair releases on March 5th on Veneda Carter’s website. Retailer END is dropping both the Wheat and Black colorways on March 4th for $255. We can also expect a larger release on Timberland.com soon.
