Since debuting in 2020, the special ’85 edition of the Air Jordan 1 has become an annual tradition that pays tribute to the one that started it all. We’ve gotten OG colorways like the Neutral Grey, Michael Jordan PE colorways like the “New Beginnings,” and never-released versions like the “Georgetown” pair. 2025 will mark the sneaker’s 40th anniversary, and Jordan Brand is promising to do it big. There is already a confirmed “Bred” release of the ’85 AJ1, and we have a look at a”Royal” version. OG Chase B took to Instagram to show off the OG colorway.
The Houston DJ showed off the early pair and other unreleased Nike and Jordan Brand pairs. While a date has not been shared, we can expect these to drop in 2025 or 2026. The last time we saw an OG Royal AJ1 release was in 2017, during an era that predated the rise of the AJ1 in the late 2010s. This will be the 5th release of the iconic OG colorway, with past drops coming in 1985, 2001, 2013, and 2017.
