Today, Jordan Brand has unveiled the Air Jordan 5 “Wings”, a special-edition sneaker commemorating the 10-year anniversary of the Wings initiative – a global program rooted in Michael Jordan’s belief in the transformative power of education.

Launching globally on July 16 via SNKRS, the Wings AJ5 is more than a sneaker. It’s a symbol of a decade of breaking barriers and enabling others to fly. Designed to reflect the journey and legacy of the Wings program, the silhouette features a tin and aluminum colorway, a nod to traditional 10-year anniversary gifts, and is packed with meaningful details.

The sneaker’s toe box features a message that reads: “In the Family, No One Flies Alone” – a mantra that defines the Jordan Brand community. The sneaker’s outsole is stamped with Michael Jordan’s handprint spans both shoes, forming the number 10 when placed together. The Wing’s Five’s Heel & Foxing feature a Wings Jumpman logo that replaces the traditional Nike Air, and the number “10” replaces MJ’s iconic “23.” The tongue interior contains a WINGS label stitched inside; while a Wings 10-Year Logo Charm and a graduation cap tassel celebrate the thousands of students who’ve soared through Wings programming.

“For the past decade, the Wings initiative has empowered thousands of young minds all over the world – paving the way for future leaders,” said Sarah Mensah, President, Jordan Brand. “From Basketball to Design, from Scholars to Interns, we are empowering youth to achieve greatness on their own terms.”

“The Wings program 10-year anniversary is one of the milestones I am the proudest to have been a part of,” says Howard White, Vice President of Brand Affairs, Jordan Brand. “To have a true legacy of greatness, it should start with education.”

The launch also marks a broader celebration of the Wings initiative’s decade of impact. Since 2015, Wings has awarded over 4,000 scholarships, placed 36 interns, and graduated more than 1,400 students from its Design Program – all powered by 28 global community partners and over 146,000 volunteer hours from Nike and Jordan Brand employees.

The Wings Air Jordan 5 will be available in women’s and men’s sizing (W 5/M 3.5 to W 19.5/M 18) and retails for $210 USD. With only 7,337 pairs distributed globally, this limited-edition release is as exclusive as it is meaningful.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
