Off the heels of their first fashion show in six years, KITH is partnering up with adidas to celebrate the brand’s long history with running.
The collection is extensive and features six iconic adidas running silhouettes from the brand’s long history. All pairs, of course, feature Ronnie Fieg’s touch- including metallic leather and and colored three stripes on the medial side. Kith Classics and adidas Running celebrate more than sixty years of innovation, honoring key milestones in adidas’ performance footwear history. With the SL 72 OG, the New York, the Oregon Ultra Tech, the Supernova Cushion 7, the Energy Boost, and the Adizero Boston 13 being utilized in this extensive capsule.
The SL72, which recently made the jump into lifestyle- casual wear, kicks off the collection with a classic look. The green pops on the medial elevate the sneaker, while an aged midsole and toe-cap tie it all together.
Originally released in the 1980s, the adidas New York features a chunkier midsole than the SL72. The medial of the New York features Navy stripes, while the rest of the sneaker follows the same theme the collection does.
The Oregon Ultra Tech, originally known simply as the Oregon, released in 1991. Its known for its web-wrapped midsole that aides in cushioning and shock- absorption. KITH’s rendition features hits of Barbados Cherry on the medial side of the sneaker.
Entering the new millennium, adidas Supernova Cushion 7 was a drastic departure from the models mentioned earlier. Launched in 2008, the sneaker’s advanced cushioning aided runners to go the distance. KITH Classic’s pair features Royal Blue hits on the medial side.
The Boost revolution brought adidas running to the mainstream world of casual-wear. It dominated the 2010s, allowing adidas valuable real estate in the world of sneakers. KITH is reminding us of that era with their version of the Energy Boost, which features black stripes tucked away in the medial.
Rounding out the collection is the adidas Adizero Boston 13. Debuting this year, the Boston 13 has found a lane within adidas Running’s current stretch of popularity. While the enterity of the collection focuses on looking back at previous eras of the iconic brand, the Boston 13 gives us hope for the future of adidas Running’s long history.
The drawings for the collection are open now exclusively on the Kith App— until Thursday, August 21st at 11:59PM.
