At the tail end of last year, a partnership between New Balance and Canadian boutique HAVEN yielded a triple black, reflective 990v5, a sneaker who’s sleek, utilitarian design perfectly suits the country’s colder climates. Now, the two brands follow up their mutual successes with a gray/white take on the techwear-inspired runner.
Highly reflective 3M material is interwoven into virtually every part of the HAVEN 990v5 including the laces, the NB V5 branded heel cup, and the surrounding suede panelling.
The collaboration is best defined, however, through its use of premium materials. Dyed in a light grey/white, the upper is composed of pigskin suede with Horween leather accents around the entirety of the midsole. The standard mesh toe box and side panels of regular New Balance sneakers is replaced with a Cordura® AFT mesh, a sturdy, high quality fabric which also maintains breathability.
The HAVEN x New Balance 990v5 will be available through HAVEN’s website March 13th at 4PM EST and instore at 11AM local time.
