Nike has unveiled plans for a series of ever-evolving concept stores around the globe called “Nike Rise”. The first Nike Rise location opened last week in Guangzhou, China with more locations planned to open worldwide in 2021.
Nike Rise stores will differ from regular Nike retail locations in a few key ways, most importantly the locations’ frequent layout, design, and in-store customer experiences changing and rotating based on major sporting events occurring concurrently. Other key features include a Nike By You customization bar wear customers can transform their footwear or apparel based on their own individual desires. Regarding the Nike Rise project, Cathy Sparks – the VP/GM of Global Nike Direct Stores and Service – said:
“Building on our history of serving our Greater China Members through new and innovative store concepts, we’re thrilled to unveil this first Nike Rise door in Guangzhou, a city that truly loves and obsesses sport…Whether Members are connecting through the Nike App or joining in-store, they’re invited to experience a digitally-enabled journey at this Nike Rise door that links them to the energy and activity of the city, and unites communities across Guangzhou through the power of sport.”
