One of the most clever Dunk Low colorways is coming at the end of this month via Berlin-based skateshop Civilist. Thanks to a thermochromatic finish applied across the upper, what looks like an all-black sneaker is in fact concealing a world of colors.
At first, you have an all black upper and laces, with the only sign of color coming from the embroidered Times New Roman “Nike” text in white on the heel and the pixelated white/yellow Nike SB tongue tag. Place your feet inside for long enough, however, and the additional body heat plus outdoor temperature will reveal the stylized color mapping underneath, replete with bright blue, red, yellow, orange, and green tones, all of which naturally fade into one another. The only portions of the shoe that stay intact are the small “Civilist” logo tag on the posterior side of the lateral Swooshes, the white midsolse, and the black outsole. You’ll be able to grab a pair of the Civilist x Nike SB Dunk Lows when they release at select skate shops August 29th, followed by a SNKRS release shortly thereafter.
