After being teased yesterday via NIGO’s Instagram, the newest HUMAN MADE x adidas Originals collection has been revealed. Spearhead by the debut of a brand new silhouette, the full collection includes both co-branded footwear and apparel. The marketing campaign highlights traditional Japanese kabuki theatre with its models adorned in the Three Stripes brand new, Tokio Solar. Officially titled the Tokio Solar HM due to its debut as a HUMAN MADE collab, the shoe is inspired by the adidas Tokio trainer originally created in 1964 for that year’s Tokyo Olympics. Boasting a full-length Boost midsole and playful colors, the Tokio Solar HM is a modern twist on the archival piece. An X is created on the heel out of the same Three Stripes leather piping featured on the side panels with an exaggerated heel/pull tab creating an easier slip-on construction. The uppers are made up a breathable, perforated mesh with additional suede accents in tonal colors. The Tokio Solar HM will arrive in green/white and white/navy colorways.
Also dropping alongside the Tokio Solar HM is a playful update on the Stan Smith, the UNOFCL. Available in black/white and white/gold, the UNOFCL features three velcro straps with HUMAN MADE’S “Made for futuristic teenagers” logo written across in white ink or gold foil respectively. Silver studs create the Three Stripes outline on both the medial and lateral sides of the shoe and “DRY ALLS” text appears on the heels as NIGO’s final piece of additional branding. A matching apparel capsule will release. The full adidas x HUMAN MADE collection drops on September 25th.
