The Shattered Backboard story is one of the most beloved tales by sneakerheads. His Airness rose to new heights on August 25, 1985, in Trieste, Italy, and broke the glass with his almighty dunk. It wouldn’t be until decades later that Jordan Brand would embrace what went down in Italy.

Since the release of the first Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard” in 2015, the orange with black color combination is one that everyone in the game looks forward to adding to the collection. Inspired by the uniforms MJ wore during the exhibition game, the “Shattered Backboard” is one of many reasons that Jordan and his shoes exuberate greatness and nothing less.

Another “Shattered Backboard” member is joining the prestigious family as an Air Jordan 1 Low is set to arrive in August. Arriving in the OG color scheme, the Air Jordan 1 Low “Shattered Backboard” is an early contender for sneaker of the year (you read that right).
