atmos is one of those labels that never takes a day off – pushing out new product after new product every single season. 2020 is no exception with a slew of Nike and adidas collaborations on the way. The latest of these collabs is an upcoming adidas SuperStar for the shoe’s 50th anniversary done in a glowing, green/silver/black colorway.
atmos founder Hirofumi Kojima took to Instagram to show off the rustic yet futuristic sneaker both in its standard look and when shone under bright lights in a dark room. Officially known as the atmos x adidas Superstar G-SNK 10 “Reflective Snake”, this shoe uses a triple black colorway as its base, with the laces, clamshell toecap, liner, midsole, and outsole replete in a uniform black. Layed over top this base, however, is a series of snakeskin patterned “scales” done in silver 3M material. The Three-Stripes branding on the medial and lateral sides of the shoe, as well as the heel tab, tongue, and lacestays are also made up of 3M but without this snakeskin texture. Under normal conditions, the shoe appears black and silver, but when light reflects off its faux-reptile surface the entire shoe – from the outsole to the tongue – glows a bright neon green, seemingly transforming into a completely different sneaker.
