A new COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Force 1 Mid was revealed yesterday as part of the Japanese brand’s Fall/Winter ’20 for Paris Fashion Week. The latest in a long string of Nike collabs, the CdG AF1 Mid plays with the formula in subtle ways, mostly through distressing and deconstruction techniques.
Black “Nike Air” branding on the heel and an embossed COMME des GARÇONS across the ankle strap provide the only hits of color on the all-white silhouette. Slight distressing can be found across the leather paneling’s seams, resulting in hanging edges akin to CdG’s Air Max 95 from earlier this year. Another notable design element is the removal of a traditional Swoosh sewn the medial sides, opting instead for an outline created out of small punctures in the upper.
Expect this sneaker to drop alongside the rest CdG’s mainline collection this Fall/Winter season.
