Nike has now revealed official photos of its upcoming COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Dunk Lows, set to arrive in two monochrome colorways, each with a transparent upper on May 14th. These will be dropping initially as a Dover Street Market online exclusive in a men and women’s full-size run, followed by a larger release at other boutiques soon after. Both models will be priced at $260 USD, rather than the traditional ~$100 USD price tag associated with Dunk Lows.
The CdG x Nike Dunk Lows has some of the key attributes associated with the acclaimed Japanese label such as unique materials and the reinterpretation of familiar silhouettes. These sneakers arrive in a transparent ripstop material akin to the Element 87s, and also has a slimmer cut around the ankle, with all padding removed to ensure a lightweight end-product.
The sneakers will be dropping in two versions. The first is composed of a black/grey ripstop material in around the heels and medial portions of the shoe while the toe is made up a pale white material. The other model features the same shades of tonal blacks throughout the entire upper with the added addition of “CDG” logos in white scattered throughout, making this the louder of the two. Whether you go for the subtle option or the logo-laden one, the combination of Rei Kawakubo’s label and the resurgent Nike Dunk hype, these CdG x Nike Dunk Lows are going to be a hit across the board.
